“I may make it to the galleries, but I will always come back to a wall.”

During his time as an undergraduate student, lé dieguê began painting murals professionally. His passion, manners, and skills afforded him impactful opportunities to create notable murals in various cities, including Miami, Caracas, and Paris, over the course of about a decade.

  • Georganometric Element Venezuela 2

In 2016, lé dieguê was provided a designated space on Campbellsville University’s campus to practice and polish his spray-painting skills. His use of this controversial medium was the talk of the town, not for negative reasons, but for the total opposite. Locals and visitors reacted positively to his artworks and to his daring, vibrant use of color. On this wall, lé dieguê painted more than 10 murals, completing two separate series: Heritage and Gratitude. In this beautification mural project, without precedent in the school’s and the town’s history, his dream of becoming a professional painter had begun to materialize. This allowed him to make a long-lasting artistic impact.

  • Georganometric Element for Beijing Restaurant

In his latest visits to Caracas, lé dieguê painted several public and private murals around the country. His desire to paint was translated indoors and outdoors, allowing his work to be seen by a larger audience. This mural is painted at Beijing Restaurant’s first location in eastern Caracas. With a complex mix of shapes, colors, and patterns, the artist captures the energy, color, and aesthetic of the asian fusion found on the menu. The mural encompasses rhythms, flavors, and controlled chaos. Its intricacy is a clear depiction of Caracas’ tempo and pace. Providing a visual component to the restaurant’s ambience.

  • Imposing timidness

Between 2016 and 2018, lé dieguê ventured into large-scale murals while completing his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, USA. This allowed him to diversify his portfolio by creating artworks that differed from his usual styles yet still resonated with the school’s visual identity. In the fall of 2017, lé dieguê was contacted by the volleyball team to paint a mural in their new gym to intimidate visiting teams while protecting the home team, the Campbellsville Tigers. The color choice in this mural depicts the school’s color scheme.

  • Chromometry El Calvario - 1

An essential factor in lé dieguê’s career is his community work. In 2018, after painting various murals for the community of El Calvario in Caracas, he wanted to paint one more piece that could be more representative of the area. For that, he decided to paint Chromometry El Calvario 1, a piece inspired by a picture of a gap between the buildings in the adjacent alleyways. In that way, he invited the community to look beyond their surroundings. Giving a novel way to see light and color, creating a new bridge for them to connect with art and their own community.

  • Flowganometric Composition

Before moving out of Campbellsville, Kentucky, lé dieguê wanted to leave a bigger mark in the town. Literally. He had painted several murals already, but most of them were focused on the school’s preferences. However, in the fall of 2018, the Theater Department commissioned him to paint a 25 × 60 ft wall in the back of their building. For this mural, lé dieguê was given full creative freedom, which allowed him to design a mural based on his own investigations.

  • Flowganometric Falcon

After a worker from North Hardin Christian High School saw lé dieguê’s mural, Imposing Timidness, painted in the volleyball gym, he was commissioned to paint a 70 × 30 ft wall with a golden and green Falcon. This mural is, until now, the largest mural he has painted; it depicts a glamorous green-and-gold falcon that overlooks the school’s gymnasium. This piece was painted freehand in 2019.
